Welcome to Russell's Rabbitry!

Hello, my name is Fred Russell.  I have raised Flemish Giants for over 20 years, specializing in Light Gray and White varieties.  I am currently a member of ARBA, a member and a director of the NFFGRB, and President of the Central States FGRB association. 

I raise my flemish in a 34' X 30' pole barn. The north and south ends of the barn are open in the summer months. It is important to have good ventilation so the air can circulate. My breeding cages for doe's and bunnies are 3' deep and 7 1/2' long. This gives the bunnies plenty of room to grow and exercise. My buck cages and cages for weaned and show bunnies are 3' deep and 4' long. Flemish need room to be active in their cages. 

My wife, Lisa, and I have three children and three grandchildren. Our oldest son and his wife own an automotive service business and have two daughters. Our youngest son is in the army and stationed in NY with his wife and son. Our daughter is in high school and stays busy with school and church activities. We live at the edge of Herrin in the southern part of Illinois. We are located 5 miles off of Interstate 57. We enjoy showing our Flemish at all breed shows and at the Nationals where we meet and fellowship with other breeders.
